Our History

Robby and Teresa Watts started The Deck Company in 1998 while Robby was attending UK College of Engineering. During the first couple of years, the company consisted of Robby, Teresa, one full time carpenter and part time employees as needed.

During 2000 - 2001 we completed several small residential remodeling jobs in addition to the deck projects. When Robby graduated in May 2002, The Deck Company had completed several large remodeling projects and over 125 residential decks in central Kentucky. Between 2002 and 2008, The Deck Company has designed and built 10-12 custom and speculative homes. We have also been the design/build contractor on 25-30 large remodeling projects.

In January 2009 we formerly changed our name to TREC Construction. The name better reflects our range of construction services. We have grown to six full time employees and now have a very long list of satisfied clients.
